The Christian’s Devotion to God

2Corinthians 5:14-15 We are ruled by Christ’s love for us. We are certain that if one person died for everyone else, then all of us have died. And Christ did die for all of us. He died so we would no longer live for ourselves, but for the one who died and was raised to life for us. CEV Translation

I have contemplated the truths in this writing for about six years, sometimes motivated by them and quit honestly sometimes frustrated, but always considering God’s desire. I believe as Believers; it is healthy for us to consider what God wants.

We know what it means to be devoted to family, job, and cause, but what does it mean to be devoted to Him? Immediately people think about the big three, sex, drugs, and alcohol, but believe it or not there are many who do not have trouble with either, but it still does not mean they are devoted. Peter said we ought to obey God instead of man. Acts 5:29

When Jesus died for us, it gave Him the right to tell us how to live, the issue is, if His will is not our will there will be problems. When you and I died we not only died to sin, but we died to self. We died to doing what we think is right, to following Him and what He knows is right.

There are two areas I was thinking about in particular, one is politics, and the other is race. To you the Christian, is it more important to be Black, White, Indian, Asian, Hispanic, or Latino and so on? Because if it is more important to be one of those, you will suffer terribly with your devotion to Him.

Politics

As Christians, what would motivate us to believe one thing on Sunday and Wednesday, but vote totally opposite that same belief during the week? What has caused our motivation to shift? What has become so important that it supersedes the will of God thereby hindering our devotion?

What is the rationalization that has caused our devotion to weaken? In my thinking why is it so important? Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

When former President Obama, and Trump were in office, did we as the Word instructs us, pray for them, or did we offer criticism and complaints? 1Timothy 2:1-2 Were we happy or unhappy because of the color of their skin, did we consider God at all, or were our decisions based on temperament?

So, this is the question, which is most important, your spiritual heritage or your natural?
